Conservative Politics Still Focussing On Ensuring No Man Is Left Behind

Conservatives have had a hard time of late. Their childhood wonderland of ignorant bigotry has been eroded on a daily basis by the on going social re-distribution of power, and they are getting frustrated. It shows with the comments of scott morrison, supposed spokesperson of Australia's population en masse at a function held to celebrate the role of women in both our society and economy.
"We want to see the rise of women in this country to be accelerated to ensure that their overall place is maintained"
The irony of the statement seems lost on morrison who still claims his party has no problem with women. It highlights, however, exactly how heigh and steep the metaphorical mountain is that women have to climb in order to be allowed to sit at the same table of the mysoginistic gatekeepers of the Australian parliament. In fact according to morrison, whose current government is under fire due to its mass exodus of female members over claims of misogyny and bullying, women do not only have to petition the public for the right to represent their views, but must also petition for another seat to be added to the table. To quote morrison directly
"We don't want to see women rise on the basis of others doing worse"
In an election year one has to question the motifs of our governing body, if only for the sake of our nations direction for the next three years. With statements like this one also has to ask whether Australia can afford another three years of Paleolithic conservative politicians in charge. Or as recent liberal party departee Julia bishop said
“No nation will reach its potential unless and until it fully engages with the skills and talents and energy and ideas of the 50 per cent of its population that is female."
Given Julia Bishop spent more time as deputy prime minister than Scott Morrison has as a sitting member of parliament, the question remains, how long will the conservative female voters of Australia tolerate such inequality in the representation of their voices by a prime minister and a party that clearly doesn't feel their voices are relevant. At least not at the expense of a male member, regardless of qualification.
